OUR STORY STARTS WITH THE WOMAN WHO WROTE IT
From burnt-out social worker to bestselling author, Carmen has always been a visionary who uses words to build a table large enough where everyone has a seat.
New York Times Bestseller
Carmen started her career as a social worker for kids in abusive situations. In the midst of impossible tragedy, she had a tenacious vision that things could change. But the weight of the work kept growing.
In the trenches of burnout, she wrote her first book. After restructuring it thirty-nine times—yes, thirty-nine—Helping You Is Hurting Me: Escaping the Messiah Trap sold 250,000+ copies.
She went on to write 39+ books with Big 5 publishers, made the NYT Bestseller list for fifty-two weeks straight, and toured national news outlets like Oprah, USA Today, Newsweek, and dozens more.
“You will only make it as an author if you can learn to withstand the unknown.”
–Carmen Renee Berry
Watching other authors struggle to write and publish their books, she began book coaching and ghostwriting. She was dedicated to launching the next generation of powerful messengers into the world. But when she’d send them off to publishers, they’d fall flat without proper mentorship to help them succeed in the market.
Constantly challenging the status quo and never fitting into a box, Carmen started her own publishing house with a new way. She set out to connect the often disjointed process of writing and publishing. She developed a radically author-centered approach from her model of author coaching to the way she designs her contracts. She never offers a contract she wouldn’t be willing to sign herself as an author.
Starting out as a tenacious social worker, she has now built a purpose-drive team of writing, publishing, and marketing professionals.
